Chef Scott Walton of Markethouse has begun tending to the restaurant’s rooftop garden which is comprised of 16 massive cedars beds of produce for the restaurant’s menu. I’ve just received this year’s garden list, which includes 15 varieties of heirloom tomatoes (green zebra, violet jasper); beets (candy stripe); carrots (cosmic purple); and corn (sweet Inca); plus a variety of onions, herbs, berries and peppers.
This summer, Walton will be offering his Heartland 101 Series atop the restaurant’s rooftop garden. On Wednesday, August 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., guests will enjoy an informative evening with demonstrations on unique garden dishes! Inspired by Chef Scott’s garden-inspired menu, the demos will include five themed dishes (August is (root vegetables), along with beer or cocktails pairings with each course.
